Below you’ll find a clear overview of our funded childcare options, additional hours and any chargeable extras, helping you understand what is included and any additional costs.
Funding Childcare Hours
City Way Nursery accepts both 15-hour and 30-hour government funding. Funding can be used as outlined below. Any hours taken outside of these funded sessions will be charged at the unfunded hourly rate.
Term-Time Funding (38 weeks)
15 hours per week - Free
30 hours per week - Free
Stretched Funding (51 weeks)
30 Hours Stretched
2 days per week: 14.2 funded hours
3 or more days per week: 22.8 funded hours
15 Hours Stretched
11.2 funded hours per week
Please note: The Baby Room (under 2s) operates on a 51-week basis only.
Additional Hours (Unfunded)
Additional hours are charged on an ad-hoc basis where applicable.
Meals and Snacks
Meal packages are charged on funded days only and are based on the session length.
Meal packages for full-day sessions include:
Breakfast
Morning snack
Hot lunch with pudding
Afternoon snack
4:00pm tea
Consumables
Consumables are charged at £2.00 per 3-hour session.
This covers items such as:
Nappy creams
Suncream
Spare nappies
Nursery wipes
Additional celebrations, crafts, baking activities and shop visits.
(These are items provided above and beyond EYFS requirements.)

Payment and Funding Support
Tax-Free Childcare can be linked to your account using our registration number: RP909931
Universal Credit payments are usually paid to us in advance and claimed back through your Universal Credit account.
Please note: Universal Credit does not reimburse meal packages or consumable charges.
If you do not wish to pay for specific consumables (for example, if you prefer to provide your own), please let the nursery team know so the next steps can be discussed.
